garden coachWe are pleased to have Marnie Brennan on our staff here at the Garden Shop Nursery. Marnie has completed the Nursery Worker Training program, with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, and is working on an AA certificate, from TMCC in Landscape Management.

Marnie can be also seen on KRNV Channel 4, on the 2nd and 4th Fridays just after 6:00 a.m.

Join Marnie on 1270 The Buzz, Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. along with nursery professionals as she hosts “The Impatient Gardener” Reno’s only interactive garden talk show.

Upcoming guests scheduled are:
June 6th: Kay Young, retired Geranium grower, and expert
June 13th: Dale Carlon, ISA arborist, and Lora Richards, to discuss the Truckee Meadows Community Forestry Collation.
June 20th: Jim Stan house, from Signature Landscape/Reno Lawn and Landscape will join Marnie to discuss lawn care in the heat.
June 27th: Deb Robison, Irrigation expert is going to help with our watering issues and setting up an irrigation system.
July 4th: Dr. Laird Blackwell from the University of Nevada will join me and talk wild flowers in our region.
July 11th: House plant expert, Suzanne Adams from Master Gardner program

June 13 - Tree Planting and Care
Lets not forget our trees. It a great time to replace or plant a new tree, and the Garden Shop Nursery have a wonderful selection of trees, and many sizes. We will also learn how to check for a stressed tree, looking for pest or environmental concerns.
   
June 20 - Lawn Care for summer heat

June 27 - Perennials and annuals for all gardens
This class with helps gardeners pick the right perennial or annual for the right place. There are many features of perennials that some gardeners may have missed and we hope to set them on a great perennial garden. Featured speaker to be announced
