All seminars at the Garden Shop Nursery are held at 3636 Mayberry Drive. Seminars will begin at 10:30am and last for an hour, and they are FREE!

Classes are taught by the Garden Shop Nursery team and special guest speakers from the gardening community.

March 6^th
Easy edible gardening. Marnie Brennan will host this class with the very basics on choices. You will learn how to turn your yard, garden and even containers into beautiful displays of flowers, veggies and or herbs.

March 13^th
Growing and storing herbs and potatoes with Jana and Tom from the River School. Now is the time to get the potatoes in the ground and think about what kinds of herbs you would like to grow.

March 20^th
Alan Gubanich, VP and acting President of the Lahontan Audubon Society will come to the nursery and talk birds. We have a nice large room that will be ready to accommodate all bird lovers.

March 27^th
Houseplant care with Suzanne Cody Adams, Master Gardener and garden teacher for TMCC will teach us about our house plant care.

April 3^rd
Here is a two for one seminar; lawn care and perennials all in one class. Join Ed Bath, owner of the Garden Shop Nursery and Marnie Brennan, Garden Coach and learn all you need for a great lawn and hardy perennials. Ed will cover spring lawn care, and Marnie, our own perennial lover, for an introduction on how to best utilize  perennials for our unique region and zone.

April 10^th
Rose care for spring with Diane Storz-Linz, horticulturist and rose expert.

April 17^th
Home composting, this almost hands on seminar will be given by our own Ryan Sharrer. Ryan has been tending our pile and will show you how easy it is to make our own organic compost.

April 24^th
Vegetables and Orchids
This being a busy time of the year we have scheduled 2 very important seminars.
Orchid care will be discussed with Sean Abbott, President of the Northern Nevada Orchid Society. Sean will be in the greenhouse with our orchid collection and will talk about the basic care of orchids.
Master Gardener Randy Robison, is a our local vegetable garden expert. Randy has completed his training in square foot gardening and will help with all your vegetable garden needs, this is one not to be missed.
